DentaPrint
Development of direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) and electrolytic plasma polishing (EPP) for dental CoCrMo implants
The DentaPrint project is a collaborative project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) as part of the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM).
The aim of the project is to develop a continuous process chain for the production of marketable CoCrMo dental implants. The focus is on optimizing the DMLS process parameters in order to manufacture precise and defect-free structural components in accordance with the model specifications. At the same time, the technology of electrolytic plasma polishing is being further developed in order to significantly reduce the surface roughness of the components and improve the surface quality in the long term.

ZVO Surface Technology Days 2025: In-person event in Berlin
Mr. Kroll explained and presented the plasma polishing process to visitors in a very interesting lecture. Topic: Surface treatment and cleaning—efficient, sustainable, and economical in the process chain—through electrolytic plasma polishing.
Surface treatment is a key technology for finding technical, scientific, economic, and ecological solutions to current problems in the development of innovative products. The Surface Technology Days, held annually in September by the Central Association for Surface Technology (ZVO), make an important contribution to this.
The primary goal of the Surface Technology Days is to promote targeted networking between research and practice in the field of electroplating and surface technology and to support cross-industry communication. The core topics of the Surface Technology Days are the development of new areas of application for electroplated coatings, the increasing demands placed on coated surfaces, and dealing with new legal regulations at EU and federal level. The practical orientation of the event is particularly beneficial for the specialist audience from the fields of development, construction, design, and manufacturing.
